Robin Stechschulte honored with ATHENA Leadership Award
Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce
Proudly announces Robin Stechschulte as the 2024 ATHENA Leadership Award Recipient. The award was presented at the chamber's annual ceremony in June, making Robin the 36th recipient since the first award in 1988.
Nominated by 2023 honoree Sara Edwards, Robin was recognized for her decades of community service and as a role model for women and girls. Robin has been a dedicated board member for Voices for Children, where she led efforts to establish a safe space for child abuse victims. She also served on the Shiawassee Community Mental Health Board, helping develop a youth leadership team.
Robin's passion extends to 4-H youth programs, where she has been involved for 34 years, including 19 years as a leader and 15 years on the council. She has mentored countless young people, encouraging them to grow and achieve their goals. Additionally, Robin is active on the Shiawassee Humane Society Board, known for her dedication and fundraising efforts.
Ruthann Liagre, SRCC Interim Executive Director and 2022 Athenian, highlighted the award's prestige, noting that it honors women who contribute selflessly to their communities. Robin exemplifies this spirit, continuing to give back and uplift others.
