President's Corner - September 2021
Recently, I found an article in Forbes about Brand authenticity quite interesting. I agree with the author that most of us, as customers, really want “a genuine, credible, trustworthy and authentic experience in this hyper-connected virtual world.”
Do you have your go-to brands that you know you can trust to deliver on what they advertise? I know I do! The ones that get the extra star for me are those that when faced with an issue, deal with it quickly and with integrity.
The highlights of how to build brand authenticity from this article are:
• Be Consistent
• Walk The Talk
• Be Real
• Engage in Conversations
So, if a business is going to build brand loyalty by those behaviors, shouldn’t the leaders behind the brand need to believe and share those same behaviors? I would argue that the business brand authenticity comes from the leadership’s authenticity. After all, aren’t those characteristics the same ones you would want in a friend or coworker?
How authentic is your personal brand? Are you consistent - walking the talk, being real and engaging in conversation? In every part of our life, we are projecting our own personal brand. What kind of brand authenticity do you have and what brand authenticity do you want to have? I encourage you to read the article linked below and take a minute to reflect on your “brand” and ways you can continue to #LiveAuthentically.
